Standard Model Biomedicine Appoints Biotech Commercial Veteran Julie Gerardi to Lead Business Development and Strategy

— Standard Model Biomedicine, an emerging leader in multimodal patient-centric artificial intelligence, today announced the appointment of Julie Gerardi to head Business Development and Strategy. In this role, Gerardi will lead the company's commercial strategy, go-to-market initiatives, and strategic partnerships as the firm scales its groundbreaking "world model" technology for clinical development.

Standard Model Biomedicine is building a multimodal foundation model that simulates how a patient's health trajectory evolves under specific medical interventions. By integrating longitudinal medical records, genomics, pathology, and advanced medical imaging, the company's platform moves beyond statistical analysis to predict patient outcomes, including drug response, toxicity, and disease progression, in the critical and high-attrition phases of clinical development.

Gerardi joins Standard Model with over 25 years of experience scaling pioneering life science companies, spanning nimble startups to Fortune 500 corporations. She has consistently operated at the intersection of deep scientific innovation and strategic business development. Her previous executive leadership includes driving commercial growth at Bioptimus, where she established the company as a dominant enterprise partner. She has also held key roles at Tempus AI, heading their Biological Modeling business unit, and Parse Biosciences, leading corporate business development and strategy.

"The clinical development landscape is at a turning point," said Kevin Brown, CEO and Co-founder of Standard Model Biomedicine. "For years, the industry has relied on molecular discovery, but the real bottleneck is proving those assets work in human patients. Julie's unparalleled track record in scaling high-impact biotech commercialization is exactly the catalyst we need to bring our world model technology to the pharmaceutical leaders who are actively seeking to de-risk their clinical pipelines."

"Standard Model Biomedicine is solving the most significant friction point in drug R&D: predicting patient outcomes before a trial begins," said Gerardi. "The shift from molecule-centric discovery to patient-trajectory simulation is the next frontier of biopharma. I am thrilled to join the Standard Model Biomedicine team to scale this platform and help our partners transform how they design trials, select patients, and deliver life-saving treatments."

In her new role, Gerardi will spearhead the expansion of the company's enterprise commercial engine, focusing on scaling its partnerships across the pharmaceutical industry, where Standard Model has already secured anchoring programs.

About Standard Model Biomedicine

Standard Model Biomedicine is building a multimodal world model for patients. Unlike standard foundation models that read data in isolation, the company's platform acts as a simulator, taking a patient's rendered state and applying interventions to predict actual clinical trajectories. By enabling pharma companies to simulate trial outcomes and clinical efficacy, Standard Model helps solve the industry's $180B clinical development bottleneck.
